Movies under the Stars a success

Coffs Open Air Cinema

Locals and tourists arrived on mass over the weekend for the Newcastle Permanent Open Air Cinema. The perfect weather and free entry were a huge drawcard, attracting almost 2000 people over the three nights.

Sinclair Black from Coastal Cinemas is very grateful to the sponsors Newcastle Permanent and City Centre Coffs Harbour for enabling the event to go ahead this year. He said, “The crowds were extremely well behaved and we are just excited that so many people got to enjoy the open air cinema experience in Woolgoolga and Coffs Harbour”.

One moviegoer summed it up by saying, ”What more could you want…watching a great film on a huge outdoor screen under the stars with your friends and hearing the sound of the ocean.”

The Newcastle Permanent Open Air Cinema screened the surfing documentary Bombora in Woolgoolga on Friday night and then moved to the Coffs Jetty foreshores for two nights. Marley and Me was a very popular attraction on Saturday night and a huge crowd turned out with their deckchairs, beanbags and picnics for the final movie, Night at the Museum 2.
