Coffs Harbour’s Open Air Cinema is back

(Coffs Harbour, 18th November 2008)

Coastal Cinemas is returning in 2009 and invites you to spend an unforgettable summer at the Coffs Harbour Jetty foreshore enjoying your favourite movies under the stars from Sunday 4th to Sunday 18th January.

The Jetty foreshore will be transformed into an Open Air Cinema experience for 15 nights. This is a wonderful opportunity for locals and visitors to the Coffs Coast to watch the latest release films in a beautiful setting by the sea.

Gather a group of friends and relax with a picnic as the sun sets and the screen lights up.

Gates will open at 7pm each night and screenings start at sundown, approximately 8.15pm.

Tickets will be available from 5.30pm each night at the door. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children.

Coastal Cinemas is the initiative of Sinclair Black, a local professional photographer and cameraman. After making the sea change to Coffs Harbour in 2006, Sinclair felt Coffs, with its great climate, would be the ideal spot for an outdoor cinema. So, in collaboration with Coffs City Council the perfect seaside venue was found and now it’s ‘Showtime’.

Sinclair is very passionate about the Cinema and says that “Despite the heavy rains we experienced last summer, our inaugural season was a great success. Moviegoers arrived with beanbags and couches, eskys and picnic hampers and soaked up the unique atmosphere.”

Experience an amazing summer by the sea with the CoffsOpenAirCinema from 4th-18th January 2009.
